Not every chargeback service can help victims of scammers. Moreover, there are quite a few fraudsters among them who are ready to deceive clients and take their money. Our Baktrail review is about one such company. What is the basis for our belief that this company cannot be trusted? Below you will find a detailed answer to this question.

Baktrail.com Examination
The creators of the Baktrail service did not put much effort into making their official website convenient and informative. To begin with, the main page is designed like a classic one-page landing site, where it seems all the information was crammed in. As a result, it turned out to be quite long and almost devoid of useful information.
However, the entire site has issues with usefulness for the client. The owners write a lot about:
- A service that has a global reach and is ready to help users from almost anywhere in the world get their money back.
- Their official operations and even having licenses.
- Working within a project of an almighty group of hackers who are always online, etc.
Yet, the company employees conveniently forgot to provide any proof of these claims. The published materials look more like advertisements. Even in the list of cases where Baktrail offers to help, there is not a single specific phrase.
Overall, it looks like a rather large container for the button to submit a consultation and refund request. Trusting a company that has not explained its activities and methods is difficult.
Company Contacts
Baktrail’s contact details are available on the page of the same name, the main page, and in the footer of the website. In other words, the creators of the service made sure these details are always in front of the visitor.
There are quite a few contact options:
- Feedback form.
- Email address.
- Phone number in the state of California, US.
- California office address (San Jose).
The website features a live chat. However, we couldn’t reach anyone at the provided phone number, and when we tried to contact support via chat, there was no operator available. Perhaps we were just unlucky, and the 24/7 support was extremely busy.
It’s worth noting the absence of links to social media groups. It seems the company is not interested in advertising to such a large audience or attracting clients from social media. This is a very strange approach for those who want to help victims of scammers and make money doing so. However, this attitude is typical of scam projects.
Key Conditions
If we were looking for a reliable and effective chargeback service, we would simply ignore Baktrail’s offers. The company does not disclose any details of the cooperation. The website does not mention:
- The documents a user must provide to initiate the refund process.
- The timelines (even approximate ones) for when the user can expect initial and final results.
- The fees the service charges for its services, or additional expenses that the company’s representatives charge to the client. The payment details of the company and the payment services it works with are also not indicated.
- The terms of the chargeback service’s contract with the client or its refusal to continue working under this agreement.
Moreover, even the official document called Terms of Service is not a client agreement. It only regulates the use of materials published on the website.
In fact, Baktrail, despite claiming to work under licenses, violates the laws and requirements of financial regulators for similar services. Should you turn to this company for help? The lack of conditions leads us to a definite conclusion—no. With such an organization of the process, the company’s representatives could extract money from the client for years, and significant sums at that. They would explain this by the need to pay various specialists, compensate for meeting expenses, etc. However, they would do nothing in the client’s interest.
Exposing Baktrail
We are almost entirely certain that the Baktrail service is not about refunding clients’ money but about trying to scam them further. This is indicated by how they organize their interaction with users. However, without verifying the company’s official data, it is too early to make categorical conclusions.
On the main page of the website, the service owners claim that the company is located in the United States and provide an address in San Jose, California. However, a check in the California Secretary of State database showed that there is no company named Baktrail registered in this state.
The only company with a similar name ceased its activities back in 2018. Similar results are found in the most comprehensive database in the United States, the National Corporation Directory. Of course, such results could have appeared because the owners did not specify the company name, and it differs from the chargeback service name.
However, we believe that there is no officially registered firm at all. This opinion is also confirmed by the Terms of Service, which refer to an internet site located at the given address in San Jose.
This shows that the service’s capabilities in refunding money are extremely limited. It does not have accreditation in banks, especially European ones (for which registration in EU countries is mandatory). Without this, it is impossible to refund funds transferred via bank transfer or card-to-card transactions. Only very naive users can believe in the possibility of a “band of hackers” somehow returning money from crypto wallets.
There is also other evidence that the company is fake. For example, according to the whois service, the domain baktrail.com was registered only in January 2024.
However, the company claims to have completed 521 projects, making 521 clients happy. This means that over 27 weeks (the time from domain registration to the writing of the review), its specialists would have had to handle about 20 projects weekly or up to 3 daily (assuming they worked without weekends). An incredible productivity level that no one would ever believe.
Another interesting fact is the Privacy Policy text. It states that “At Baktrail, accessible from https://finglobalsecurity.com,” one of the main priorities is the security of clients’ personal data. But we are more interested in the domain name mentioned in the document. It seems that baktrail.com is not the project’s first site. However, finglobalsecurity.com is not working today, and negative reviews with mentions of scammed amounts can still be found online.
All this gives us strong grounds to consider Baktrail a fraudulent project. Expecting anything other than another deception from them is illogical.
What Reviews Do Users Leave?
For six months, the chargeback service owners tried to create a positive reputation. This is evidenced by Baktrail reviews published on sites like Trustpilot, Sitejabber, etc. Of course, these reviews praise the company, talking about how cool hackers can easily return lost money. However, they somehow omit the details: how much, from which scam, how quickly, and at what cost. This is understandable—the authors of the commissioned comments simply do not have the necessary information. But our favorite post is on Trustify 360. It literally says, “Nice program. They did lots to help me achieve my aim.” Surely, there is no doubt that the review’s author wrote about the chargeback service, the professionalism of its employees, and warmly thanks them for the return of funds stolen by scammers.
Experts from thematic sites have a slightly different opinion. There are still a few publications about Baktrail, but their authors unanimously (and, most importantly, reasonably) call the service a scam.
Conclusions
In our Baktrail review, we tried to convince scam victims that using this service means losing even more money. It is unlikely that employees of a virtual company, unregistered and unaccredited anywhere, will be able to help you. The implausible statistics should alert you: why would an honest service deceive potential clients? So, we would look for a more transparent service with clearly defined cooperation conditions, unlike our subject.
Pros/Cons
- Promise to refund money from the most common scams.
- Attractively designed official website.
- There is no information about a company with this name in California.
- The service has not been accredited by banks.
- There is no client agreement text on the official website.
- The provided statistics are simply implausible.
- Cooperation conditions are hidden.
The broker-scammer stole my $14,000, so I started looking for a chargeback service. Somehow, Baktrail called me themselves. They persuaded me for 2 days until I agreed to work with them, saying the commission would be minimal and the refund practically guaranteed. A week later, they called again, asking for an additional $3,000 to pay for everything officially. They said I would get my money back in 3 days. It’s been 3 weeks now, and nothing has happened. Another set of scammers, I should have trusted my initial doubts.
